Give your child the opportunity to love school

Pacific Spirit School welcomes interest from families across Vancouver that share our educational philosophy.

If Pacific Spirit School sounds like a fit for you and your child, please visit us at one of our upcoming information sessions.

Our information sessions allow prospective parents to tour our school, meet our principal, and learn what makes PSS the school where children look forward to Monday mornings.

Where to go? Information sessions are held at our school which is located in Jericho Hill Centre, 4196 W. 4th Avenue in Vancouver, we occupy the upper floor. You can park in the flat parking lots below our building off W. 4th Avenue.

Our son gets time and encouragement to thrive; to expand on what he loves to do, and one-on-one help with what comes less naturally. The school also works on developing compassion and gratitude, which reaches into our home life. I wish every kid had the opportunity our son has at PSS to be seen for the passions, talents and quirks that make him who he truly is.

Pete, father of Bookey (grade 2)

I like that all the kids of all ages know each other and look out for each other.

Carl, father to Jasper (grade 7), Joelle (grade 5) and Joni (grade 1)

How to Apply

If you are interested in enrolling your child at Pacific Spirit School for a September school start, or part-way through the year, here is how our admissions process works:

STEP 1:  Come to an information session.  Information sessions are a great way to learn about our program. If there is no information session scheduled, please contact our elementary enrolment coordinator or high school coordinator for more information.

STEP 2:  Apply.  If Pacific Spirit School sounds like a good fit for your family, please reach out to our elementary or high school enrolment coordinator to apply.  For elementary school applicants, this step involves simply setting up a meeting to discuss your interest.  For high school applicants, you will be asked to complete and submit an application form to help us get to know you better before setting up a meeting.  Prospective high school students are invited with their parents for this meeting.  Prospective elementary student meetings may include just a parent(s), or parent(s) and student, depending on what is comfortable for the family.

STEP 3:  Attend a classroom visit.  If we seem like a match, you will be invited to a classroom visit.  For elementary students, this is typically a two step process, first, the parent is invited to observe a class without their child present.  Second, if you are enthusiastic about the fit, your child will then be invited to attend a classroom visit with you.  For high school students, prospective students attend the classroom visit and parent attendance is optional.

STEP 4:  Decision.  We will review with our educator and then reconnect with you to discuss the experience and determine if enrolment is appropriate for your child.

Two "transition mornings" are scheduled each spring for incoming students for the fall to help put children at ease.

The teachers, administrators, students and parents have shown nothing but love to our son. PSS provides a safe and nurturing environment for kids to be themselves, and to find themselves.  We've seen our son's confidence grow with each year that he is a student here. Not only is PSS a place to learn, but it is also a place where many close friendships have developed.
